I am getting hard drive errors and need to reformat or possibly get a new hard drive. I am anticipating a problem reintstalling with my current license. Are there any proactive steps to take (deactivation of my license, etc.)?-Or do I just need to contact Autodesk once in the process of reinstallilng?

So long as you've never upgraded or cross-graded this license, then you should just be able to reinstall and reactivate. If you have any problems at that point, Autodesk will assist you with that.
