Navisworks Viewer- Internet access required??

We have dowloaded and installed the Navisworks viewer on a couple of computers. A user with internet access has logged on and completed the registration process. When they log off and someone without internet access logs on to the computer, the application does not function.

Does anyone know, is the application just trying to verify that it is registered? If so, do you know what web address it is trying to get to? We can add particular addresses to our allowed sites list. They won't grant all-out internet access to these folks, though.

We are just trying to figure a way for these people to be able to use the application without internet access, if possible.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you!

Been battling a number of bugs with Navisworks 2010
installs, specifically network Navisworks Simulate 2010 (which come bundled with
the free Navisworks Freedom 2010 viewer) and for some users the free standalone
Navisworks Freedom 2010 viewer.

If you're refering to Navisworks Freedom 2010, note
that the Navisworks 2010 products all come with Communication Center enabled, a
built-in lifeline to the web.  I have reported a bug to Autodesk, where the
Communication Center works in NW Simulate 2010, but none of the links work in
the Communication Center for NW Freedom 2010.

In our experience, the NW Freedom 2010 viewer works
fine when run by various users (without any special rights), and there is no
need to register anything.  I just checked how NW Freedom 2010 would behave
if launched while not connected to the internet, and it operates just
fine.  The fact that you are "completing the registration process" makes me
wonder if you are installing the right thing, because I haven't needed to do
that with my numerous installations.

Did you opt in to the CIP (Customer Involvement
Program), and maybe that's what is trying to connect?
