Multiple ADESK Apps on Server

Right now we have our Flex licensing running on one server and dealing with
the ACAD and vertical products' network images and licenses. We also have
Mapguide 6.5 up and running on a seperate server. One of the two servers is
about to die and we want to purchase a single new server to handle both of
these duties. Since we are also planning on migrating to Mapguide
Enterprise we will also want to have it running on the same server if
possible. So, can anybody tell me whether or not there are any problems,
issues or things to watch-out for and be aware of when they are all running
on the same server?

Basically, CAN they all get along okay on the same server? Are there any
"gotchas" to look out for?

The license manager isn't really an Autodesk product; it is extremely
unlikely that you will have any application conflicts between it and
other applications. I have been running FlexLM and MapGuide on the same
server for several years without any problems.

When you start talking about multiple versions (or version-years) of
Autodesk products on the same computer, there there is always some
potential for problems. The areas where I have seen the most issues is
where users try to install an earlier-version program on the same
machine as a later edition. With the GIS verticals, the projection
libraries often get messed up, with the older software setting its
libraries as the current version.

For the specific case of MapGuide 6.5 and MapGuide Enterprise 2007, I
have personally been running pre-release versions of Enterprise (and the
Open Source equivalent) together on the same server for over six months
without a problem, and know of several other users that have had the
same experience.

Thanks very much Jason, that is just about the sort of answer I had
expected, but I would hate to make the leap and then find out something
later that I hadn't anticipated beforehand.
