Microsoft Installer Error v5.0.9200.16384

I bought a new laptop (Samsung ATIV 8 Windows 😎 yesterday and I am un able to install AutoCAD 2013. I keep getting Microsoft Installer Error v5.0.9200.16384. and then every product (AutoCAD 2013, Inventor, Inventor Fusion plug in) fail to install. I have tried the following with no luck.

 

  1.  right click desktop icon and set compatibility mode to windows 7
  2. Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap Search.
  3. (If you're using a mouse, point to the upper-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer down, and then click Search.)
  4. Enter Windows features in the search box, tap or click Settings, and then tap or click Turn Windows features on or offYou might be asked for an admin password or to confirm your choice.
  5. turn on all features for netframework 3.5, and for 4.5

a.       From the Start screen, type computer.

b.      Right-click or swipe down on Computer, and then tap or click Manage.

c.       In the console tree, tap or click Services and Applications, and then tap or click Services.

d.      In the details pane, right-click or swipe down on Windows Installer, and then tap or click Start.

 

a.       Right click on the set up file and select Properties then tap or click on the Compatibility tab.

b.      Place a check in the Run this program in compatibility mode box.

c.       Tap or click the drop down box and select a previous Operating System, then tap or click OK.

 

  1. Press Windows key +R to open Run prompt.
  2. Type msiexec.exe /unreg and click ok.
  3. If you receive a confirmation message, click OK again.
  4. Press Windows key +R.
  5. Type msiexec /regserver and click ok.
  6. If you receive a confirmation message, click OK again.

Can you try installing AutoCAD 2014 as a Trial?

I can try it but I only have a license for 2013...

I have exactly the same problem trying to install Revit 2014 or 2015 on a new laptop. I have tried with the serial number as well as a trial version. I just cant get past the windows installer V5 error message. Did you manage to figure out the problem? I'm desperate!
