MG Enterprise - PHP Config Error

Using MG 2011 Enterprise install, IIS/PHP install, on Windows Server 2008 R2. Have problem with step 12 in the "Installing and Configuing on Windows" PDF (March 2010) on page 29. This step is to add the virtual directory 'mapviewerajax'; that step works.

The next step is to select that virtual directory (mapviewerajax) and double-click "Default Document". I get an error message "Cannot read configuration file due to insufficient permissions". Config file is E:\autodesk\mapguideenterprise2011\webserverextensions\www\mapviewerphp\web.config .

Tried to view that folder in Windows Explorer, get "you don't currently have permissions to access this folder". Clicking 'continue" to gain access, get a "you have been denied permission to access this folder'.

I am logged in as the local admin of the server, and am running IIS Manager as Administrator.

I have removed (via uninstall, then remove the IIS VD's created during install, then remove the application folder), then reinstalled; still same error. I have also removed MG 2011 properly, removed the IIS role, then restarted and installed IIS role, then tried the MG 2011 install again; still same problem.

Related to this (I bellieve) is a 503 error when trying to access the http://serverip/mapguide2011/mapadmin/login.php page. Message is "Service Unavailable". Have verified that the MapGuide Enterprise 2011 Server service is running (have tried stopping/starting the service).

I am on my 6th (at least) install of this product, to no avail. (Attached is screen shot of config file error message)

Next step?
