Maya Installation aborted result=2

Hi guys, I'm trying to install Maya 2015 as a student from here: http://www.autodesk.com/education/free-software/maya

I get through everything fine until the installation where it just says installation failed. I looked on the forum and saw the result=1603 troubleshooting solutions so unistalled visual studios 2005, but when I looked at the log file (attached) is had result=2. I rebooted the system, and tried to install it anyway but it still failed. Any suggestions?

Hello. Uninstall the Visual C++ entries on the system and uninstall Microsoft NET.

At this stage, if the install fails, comment out the installer:

Go to the C:\autodesk\ install folder and open the setup.ini file

Search and replace all PREREQ entries with #PREREQ and save the file. Then run the installer.
