Maya 2014 installation failure

Hi there,

 

I too have problems installing Maya 2014. I have tried 2015, downloaded numerous times and tried reinstalling. Both Maya 2014 and 2015 fail to install just a few seconds after installation starts.  Please help!!!

Your product is failing to install because the prerequiste program required by the installer is failing prior to the installation of your Autodesk software.

 

Install    Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable ATL Security Update (x86)    Failed    Installation aborted, Result=1603

 

If the prerequisite program already exists on your computer, it is likely newer than the one the Autodesk installer is attempting to install. Please uninstall the prerequisite program causing the issue and run your installer again.

The prerequisite is not already installed and installation still fails, then you may need to make an advanced edit to the setup.ini file to ignore the error. Please make sure you manually install the prerequisite file from Microsoft and then modify the setup.ini file accordingly.

Hi there,

Thank you for your help, I followed your steps and reinstalled Maya 2014 successfully, but now it gives me this error (file attached) when I try to open the program..

 

Any advice?

Hi @jessica.t

 

Most of the students in my class could install Maya immediately without the service packs and it worked.

Is there something else we can try? If not, do I need to download all the SP's or will one/the latest one be sufficient?

Hi @Kylie-Rouve,

 

Check out the Autodesk Maya 2014 Service Pack 4 ReadMe for more detailed information but no, you do not have to install the other service packs first. Every machine is configured differently and may require different troubleshooting. I do apologize for all the trouble you've been through! Install this update and let me know it goes Smiley Happy

If someone could help asap it would be greatly appreciated..
I have tried getting help from people at my college and others too but still no luck. Unfortunately I am falling behind with work since I can't access Maya and I'm in my final year. 😞

If we can find a solution I would be very happy!!

Hello again Jessica.

 

I`m afraid that didnt solve the problem either.  Accroding to the installation log it was the C++  2005 SP1 Redstributable that was generating the 1603 error (see info from log below:)

I uninstalled it through the control panel and reatempted the installion of Maya 2015 but I still got the same error.

 

Any other ideas? I`m frustrated beyond belief, my apologies for being such a nag.
