I have a student version of Maya 2014 (which I've been happily using for some time). My wife gave me a new workstation for Christmas, and I promptly loaded Maya onto it to continue my thesis. It was working perfectly (and much faster) before the New Year. I tried launching Maya 2014 this morning, and the program is frozen on the initial splash page (after the Output window appears). The info bar on the splash page reads "Maya loading", but no progress after that.
On my older machine, it continues within 5 seconds and loads the rest and starts running the software without any problems.
So far I have:
1. Repaired the installation of 2014 (no result)
2. Reinstalled Maya 2014 (no result)
3. Changed the calender back to 2014 (no result)
4. Used a System Restore to when it was working (no result)
My new machine:
Dell Precisions 5810
Intel Xeon E5-1620 @ 3.5GHz
16GB Ram
Quadro K4200
Windows 7 Professional
Maya 2014 Standalone (Educational)
Any help is appreciated.
Hello. If this is still a problem, I would uninstall the software and delete the residual Maya folders from these places:
C:\Program Files\Autodesk\
C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\
C:\Users\All Users\
C:\Users\**YOUR USERID**\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\
C:\Users\**YOUR USERID**\AppData\Local\Autodesk\
Now reinstall and update your graphics card drivers and test.
