I've just spent all day trying to get Maya 2012 to work under linux, because apparently 3ds Max 2012 runs garbage under WINE, and Maya can run natively. Apparently it's not possible to run the linux version with a student license however. Is this true? If so... WHY? That makes no sense!
And assuming it is true, has anyone had any success running any of the autodesk apps under WINE? The stuff on AppDB is horrifically out of date.
