Hi everyone,
I have a strange issue with Maya 2012 when it comes to registering the SLM copy I get an error message stating that the product key and serial number do not match. I believe this is happening because the customer initially entered a product key for the entertainment creation suite not maya.
I need to resolve this issue, I have tried unistalling Maya using these instructions:
adlmreg –u S 2011.0.0.F adlmreg –u N 2011.0.0.F
Uninstall Maya on Mac OS X
To uninstall Maya on Mac OS X 1 Navigate to the Maya directory (by default,
/Applications/Autodesk/maya2011/).
2 Drag the maya2011 application to the trash.
3 Open a Terminal window and execute the following commands, where is your product key.
I have also tried completely deleting the .pit file from here:
"/Library/Application Support/Autodesk/Adlm/PIT"
Upon re-installing Maya I get the same error message.
The machine is a mac pro running snow leopard 10.6.7
Can anyone help me to resolve this without re-installing the entire machine.
Thanks
Ben

please try this
uninstall Maya
delete following files manually
/Library/Application Support/Autodesk/Adlm/.config/*.pit
/Library/Preferences/FLEXnet Publisher/FLEXnet/adskflex_00691b00_tsf.data
/Library/Preferences/FLEXnet Publisher/FLEXnet/adskflex_00691b00_tsf.data_backup.001
Install Maya
Thanks for the reply,
We have tried removing the files you mentioned but upon re-installing Maya the registration page still identifies it as an entertainment creation suite.
Maya is the only piece of Autodesk software on the machine so I'm quite happy to remove all traces of anything to do with Autodesk before trying a re-install.
Are there any other files I can try removing, thanks.
Ben
Since you have only Maya installed from Autodesk products, I would suggest deleting the following:
/Applications/Autodesk
/Library/Autodesk
/Library/Application Support/Autodesk
/Library/Preferences/FLEXnet Publisher/FLEXnet
After deleting above mentioned folders you need to also empty Trash. Then start installing Maya 2012 with product key 657D1.
Thanks Avto,
I actually managed to arrive at the same solution by monitoring changes to my file system during a clean install of Maya.
For those finding this in the future though this is the solution that worked.
Thanks again.
Ben
You are welcome Ben.
Thanks for marking my suggestion as the solution for this issue.
