Maya 2011 Licence problem

When I tried to licence Maya 2011 unlimited, right when I clicked validate (or something like that) the program crashed and immediately closed. When I tried opening Maya afterwards to try to put the licence back in, all it tells me is that the licence could not be obtained, some numbers, then error 20.

 

Is there any way to fix this or do I need to give up on a solution?
