Maya 2010 Won't load properly

Everytime I load Maya, the perspective view appears, but the right quarter of the grid and any objects drawn there are cut off from view. Also, an output window appears with the following:

mental ray for Maya 2010

I'm "Dead in the Water" at this point. Autodesk, please help

I would rename the Prefs folder to "old".  This is typically located in:

Documents > maya > 2010 or 2010x64

Then restart Maya.

I have the same problem.

I tried to rename the prefs forlder but it didn't help.

I still get the same message.

I don't know if the error is the cause all my problems, but i gues it is.

Can you try creating a new user account?
