I have student versions of both Max 2015 and 2014 and both are met with "3DS max application has stopped working" on start up, the plug ins load then when it hits initializing it crashes, I have attempted the licensing error steps and replaced all the neccassry files, I have tried reintalling to no avail. This is now getting very annoying as I cannot do any personal work on my time off which was my aim.
I am at a bit of a loss so any troubleshooting help would be greatly appreciated.
My specs are as follows:
Windows 8.1
AMD 8320 CPU @4.0ghz
Nvidia 780
8 GB ram
120GB SSD
1TB & 500GB storage drives

Hello. If this is still a problem, I would uninstall the software and delete the residual Max folders from these places:
C:\Program Files\Autodesk\
C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\
C:\Users\All Users\
C:\Users\**YOUR USERID**\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\
C:\Users\**YOUR USERID**\AppData\Local\Autodesk\
Now reinstall and update your graphics card drivers and test.
