Max 2010 & Dell PowerEdge M610 problem...

They’re server based nodes - 24 CPUs, 24GB of RAM.  I’ve four of them ...so I’m wasting MIPS.  They require a server based OS which is not good as server software isn’t supported by Max although we’ve employed 2003 server in other areas.

I can’t get Max 2010 Design to run on the hardware.  I get an error loading mentalray.dlz.

Things I’ve done with backburner;
Machines check in via manager
The show up in monitor
Verified backburner receives the job on each node
Edited the .xml file to point to the manager
Backburner service is running as admin
Permissions not an issue.
I get an “error loading application” in the backburner window

To assess things on the server side;
Tried running Max in compatability mode on server - 2008 Server, SP1, vista, SP1, SP2, etc.
Tried 3dsmax -h at the command line + other switches - no joy.
Dropped one of the nodes back from 2008 Server, SP2 to 2003 Server.
Installed 2010 and got the same error loading mentalray.dlz.

Reinstalled the application as a new admin - no joy.
Tried installing the SP, HF, conn ext - no joy.
I’ve tried command line rendering - errors out.

Other options?  Is there a silver bullet I'm missing in moving to 2011 and a SP or HotFix?

I can't believe that those with render farms, running 610s, haven't had this issue

The program error on start-up, when using sixteen or more CPU cores has been fixed.
Pls Download and install all the hotfix for 3ds max 2010
