License won't install

I have a new computer (windows 7) with autocad civil 3d land desktop companion 2009. Autocad is loaded. However, I can't launch it to borrow a license from the network server. I am a remote user and when I try and select the license file it won't install and get a meesage that a valid license can not be found. However, office users have been able to use this file. I have tried loggin in as administrator, disabling my firewall and anti virus to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.

First of all, Autodesk 2009 products are not supported on Windows 7.  Secondly, what do you mean by 'Remote User' in this instance?  Are you trying to connect via VPN?  Typically if you cannot connect to the NLM, it is due to firewall, latency, or IPv6.  What is the error number that you get?  If the license manager is set for 2013 Subscription licenses, there may not be any 2009 seats since the license term for that product has expired.  More information is needed before your issue can be resolved.
