License upgrade history

I have just come into a company that had at least 5 stand-alone installations for various versions. What do I need to keep of the old versions (boxes, manuals, media) to demonstrate the latest upgrade license is legal?

For example, I have a seat that is currently running AutoCAD 2000i that was upgraded from R14 and R12/13 prior to that. What needs to be kept from the R12/13 & R14 versions?

I have kept a history of the upgrades (ie M# S# A# upgraded to M# S# A#) but
the actual boxes, manuals etc. get trashed.
