Land Desktop Companion 2008 and Civil3D 2011

We are currently running 2008 LDTC on network license and some users want to start running and learning Civil3D 2011. Can both be run from the same network license file once we get the new one for 2011?

The short answer is yes. It may depend on whether you're upgrading the LDT license to C3D or buying a new C3D license. At worst you might have to upgrade to LDT 2009. That's probably a good idea anyway.
Remember that once a drawing is worked on in Civil3D if isn't a simple process to take it back to LDT. It can be done (prettymuch) but it's by no means automatic. You'll have to deal with a drawing version switch also.
I'm not trying to dissuade you. By all means start using Civil 3D. It's the way to go.

Allen, thanks for your input.
We are on subscription and upgrading, so sounds like not a problem.
It isn't our plan to convert down from C3D, we just want to start learning it and evolve at our own pace. But, good to know.

Thanks,
Paul
