Is the only way to force check-in of all seats to reinstall flexlm?

I have a seat that is checked out from a laptop, and will not check back in.

I tried re-borrowing the seat, and waiting, then checking back in, but no luck.

If I uninstall flexlm, and re-install, will that clear things out?

Its stupid because the acad that is supposedly checked out will not open unless I borrow another seat.

There is no cheating going on....

thanks

No, reinstalling won't clear it.  Laptops often lose their borrow if a network hardware changes.

Licensing is dependent on all of the following:

1.  Computername

2.  Username

3.  Network device MACs

If any of them change, then your borrow is lost.  Make sure that if the license was borrowed with WiFi or Bluetooth enabled, then it is not now disabled.  This is also true for the regular hardwired NIC.  Also, it will fail if on a docking station and then removed.

One it is all back to normal, borrowing it again and returning it should clear it.
