Inventor 2015 is failing to install on my laptop

I've tried downloading Inventor 2015 several times, but I keep getting the same results. I've tried the install now, download now, and browser download but nothing is working. Here is a screen shot of what I'm getting and below it is the installation log file. Please help!

Your product is failing to install because the prerequiste program required by the installer is failing prior to the installation of your Autodesk software.

If that doesn't work, you can modify the setup.ini file to ignore the error accordingly.

I have tried nearly every suggestion I've found, including the ones you posted. It still does not work. I tried downloading it on my desktop and it works, but not my laptop. How could I compare my desktop and laptop and see what is making the difference?

This page suggest something simple as md C:\Temp to accommodate the requirements of the nine years old Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1. That was all it took me. Installation in progress (way past the initial problem) as I write.
