Inventor 2011 Patch Requires Re-Registration - Please Help Student

I began using the student version of Inventor 2011 last month and encountered a s/w problem that closed the program yesterday.  When I reported it, I was directed to download a patch (inventor_2011_sp1_x640).

I loaded it and have since rebooted but when I try to run Inventor I now get an error saying that "Inventor.exe is not currently registered and did not correctly re-register on start up. This is probably because you do not have enough access rights (e.g. you are a Restricted User). Ask an Administrator of Standard User to re-run the program for you."

I have the original student serial number and activation code but I don't know where or how to reload them.

PLEASE help me.  The AutoDesk Student Community website has been undergoing maintenance and I don't know where to turn for help.  I have a class project due tomorrow and I have to finish working on my files.

Thank you.

It is refering to the product executable registered to Windows.  You probably just need to do a repair install and you'll be fine.  Your license is unaffected.

Please tell me how this can be accomplished.... or should I just uninstall and reinstall all of AutoDesk?  Thank you.

You can try a repair from Control Panel.  Worst case, reinstall as you mentioned.
