Inventor 2011 - modify deployment, character limit of 70

I've tried to modify a 32bit network deployment of Inventor Pro 2011.  I had no issues creating the deployment but now I want to modify it and when I try to apply the changes I receive an error message regarding the character length of the path etc.  This seems quite restrictive for those using a network.

do I have to create a new image to resolve the issue?

Hello. The character limit is not a limit imposed by the program, it is a limit imposed by the Operating system. If a modification of a deployment will not work, I would create a new deployment with a more shallow path.
