Inventor 2011 - 'Error: Unhandled Exception' when opening files

I have succesfully installed Autodesk Inventor 2011 (Student License) on my Windows 7 (64-bit) operating system without any errors.
I can open Inventor 2011, but when I try to open a new or existing file, Inventor suddenly closes and the 'Autodesk Inventor Error Report'-window opens, giving the following error:

Error: Unhandled Exception

When I go to my project folders and try to open any inventor file, the following message appears:

"Inventor.exe needs to register with he operating system and the following programs (Explorer) are running and may
prevent registration from succesfully completing. Autodesk recommends terminating the offending processes to ensure
proper registration. Terminate these processes before continuing with the registration?"

If i cick 'Yes', the problem remains.

I've tried the clean un-install and installed inventor again, following the intructions carefully (run as adminstrator, close antivirus, UAC to the lowest), without succes. I installed both service packs. I keep having the same problems.

In the past, Inventor 2011 has been working perfectly on this laptop, but I have had some hardware issues (new harddrive istalled), so I had to install everyhing agan. Could the problem have something to do with my new student license?

What can be the problem here? What am I doing wrong here?

Technical Info:

OS: Windows 7 64-bit

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU M430 @ 2.27GHz

4,00 GB RAM

ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650

Greetings,

Dennis

DennisDM,

Hello. Do you have multiple Inventor versions on your machine? This will occur if you have multiple versions and switch between them. It could be this:

http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=8390215&linkID=9242018

Also, when you click “Yes” the function of registering could be blocked by some program, malware protection or antivirus (if it is on). Look for blocking applications and see if it helps.

Depending on the setup of your User profile for this laptop, another thing you can try is to right click on the desktop icon for your Inventor software and select the "Run as Administrator" option from the contextual menu to Launch the software...
