Inventor 2008 installation on Windows 7 64bit machine

Hi All,

I've had a search for an answer, but still not clear;

Can I install my Inventor 2008(32 bit version) on a new PC running Windows 7 64bit OS?

I do have the option of configuring the PC to 32bit, but would rather go 64bit for all the obvious reasons.

Thank you in advance,

Al

autodesk doesn't support any 2008 products on windows 7: http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/item?siteID=123112&id=14185352

it may work but you might run into problems

Al_RItchie,

Hello. 2008 is not supported on Windows 7 64 bit. If you really want to try to get this installed, you could use XP mode in Windows 7. Most versions of Win 7 offer this function. This would allow you to basically virtualize Win XP 32 bit on your system, which may let you install 2008 products. Not officially supported, but will likely work.
