I'm trying to install AutoCAD 2013, but whenever I get to FaroSDK and the Autodesk Material Library 2013, I get an "Object Already Exists" error message.

You can probably ignore the Faro SDK install failure. If the Material library isn't installing can you try manually running the install MSI for it and see what the results are. You should find it in C:\Autodesk\AutoCAD_2013_English
this message, ""object already exist"" it comes up with many program, not only autodesk programs..
the recent 3 days i spent with googling, and tried every possible solution
Does the material library show up on your list of installed program in the programs and features control panel? If you you will probably want to uninstall any 2013 material library you find there. If not you may need to manually delte the directory it installs to which is c:\program files(x86)\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\Materials\2013 and then you can run the microsoft install cleanup utility to clean the registry.
The link to the utility is http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
1.) Click the "Run now" Button in the Fix-it box
2.) Accept the License Agreement
3.) Choose the option "Detect Problems and let me select fixes to apply"
4.) Select "Uninstalling"
5.) When the list of installed programs populates, select the one from the list you are unable to Re-install and then click next and yes
6.) When the tool completes There may be remnants left so please delete the directory where the product was installed
first , sorry for late reply... the email about this post landed in my spam folder.. and just find today..
thank you to taking your time...
after googling this error message, (because i got this with other programs too)
i found that some security updates by microsoft, causing this..
i deleted after august 1st , all security updates and it was working immediately..
many sources regarding only one specific update around aug 8-12...
today for example when i tried to use my computer, skype disappeared from the computer..
no were i could find.. icons, and the programfiles, all gone..
i tried to reinstall from skype, and got again ""object already exist""
so from here i knew windows ""deleted""" itself skype..
so back to wihdows updates, deleted the september's updates and i could install again skype..
reason i writing it..
if someone encounter with this, that one might dont need to investigate several days..
best regard
