I installed a 3 year student version of autocad (tried both2014 and2013 versions). The files were installed successfully but when I run the software it shows 'Fatal Error: Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0x0020 Exception at bfcd4c12h'. How can I rectify the problem??
What operating system and SP level?
You said the install was successful, so you did not get any error messages?
Do you get this fatal error message as soon as you launch the software or after you open a drawing or perform a command?
Have you searched the knowledge base?
Please try the following work flow:
1) Reset AutoCAD Settings as follows:
http://upandready.typepad.com/up_and_ready/2012/07/the-easiest-way-to-reset-autocad.html
2) Install the latest service pack:

3) Update the graphics card driver.

4) If the issue persist, please create a new local user account onto the computer and give it administrator permissions then log into the computer with newly created test account and see if AutoCAD launches properly under this user account as well.
5) If AutoCAD also crashes under the test user account, you will need to do a complete uninstall and re-install following these instructions:

Also be aware of the following issue with our 2014 software only:
