Could you please offer further details on the error? A screenshot would be great. Also are you up to date with your Service Packs?
Please also be aware that Windows 8.1 isn't officially supported yet though we are doing our best to try and help our customers install. Some people have had success with their installations by updating their graphics card drivers as well.
