I cant install 3DS Max or Maya

I'm having trouble installing the 2015 version for both of them. Everytime I install them it stops half way and at the moment im trying to download 3DS Max and the download is really slow stating 6411 days remaining

It has to download additional data.  I would recommend getting the full install.

 

To do so, download your product using the virtual assistant by following the directions here:

http://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How-to-...

 Still not working. I downloaded the file for 3DS Max 2015 and when I open it up to choose a destination for it, it says file corrupted

You should download with real-time antivirus disabled.

Sorry, I cannot divine what antivirus you are running.  You probably have an icon in your systray by the clock that will tell you what you are running, and a right-click of that usually allows for a temporary disabling of the product. 

 

But download corruption of a compressed file is usually caused by that.  Or a bad internet connection.

I have McAfee live safe should I just turn off the firewall

Heaven's yes!  That product is terrible.  In fact, I would uninstall it.  It probably came preloaded with your computer and it might even be expired.  I typically remove all preloaded protection software.  You can get free antivirus programs from AVG that are not known to break Autodesk or other products.

Yes I recently brought a new laptop for Uni which came with it. I'll try download the software again first and switching off the firewall

Im trying to install Maya at the moment and I just downloaded Part 2 and it instantly downloaded, is this of any use
