I can`t install Autocad 2013 for students on Windows 8

Hi guys!

I`m having trouble with installing Autocad 2013, for students, I`ve also tried Autocad 2014. I have an HP Envy i7 laptop 64bits Windows 8. I`ve already taken the following precautions:

  • deleted temporary files;
  • turned off personal firewall and anti virus;
  • disabled UAC;
  • tried to download from the Virtual Agent, but couldn`t find the student version;
  • followed the instructions on "How to perform a clean uninstall of an Autodesk product"
  • followed the instructions on "How to prepare your system before installing Autodesk softwares"
  • Ran Microsoft "Fix it"

After trying all of the above without any success, I got the enclosed log file.

I`d really appreciate if someone could give me a hand!

Thanks!

Renata.

Install	.NET Framework Runtime 4.0 Language Pack	Failed	Installation aborted, Result=1603

Your product is failing to install because the prerequiste program required by the installer is failing prior to the installation of your Autodesk software.

If the prerequisite program already exists on your computer, it is likely newer than the one the Autodesk installer is attempting to install. Please uninstall the prerequisite program causing the issue and run your installer again.

For more information about this process, please see my KB link here:

If the prerequisite is not already installed and installation still fails, then you may need to make an advanced edit to the setup.ini file to ignore the error. Please make sure you manually install the prerequisite file from Microsoft and then modify the setup.ini file accordingly.

Thank you so much Travis Nave! All I had to do was to take that step: IGNORE_FAILURE=YES and then I was able to install it successfully.
