I can run 3ds Max 2011 but not 2012

I recently downloaded and installed 3ds Max 2012 but it wouldn't start, all I get when I click to open it is an hourglass and then nothing else happens, so I downloaded the 2011 version and it worked perfectly fine. I even have Maya 2012 and it runs fine.

It could be video card and driver related.
