When I upgraded my HP-UX 9000 series operating system from 9 to 10, my
AutoCAD 12 Unix version quit working. Is there an AutoCAD Unix version that
works with the new HP-UX?

Jack,
As of January 01, 2000, Autodesk has discontinued support on Unix AutoCAD
products. Sales of these products, including upgrades was discontinued some
time before that.
As far as release 12 goes, it was never tested on HP-UX 10. If you were to
post exactly what is happening including complete error messages, perhaps
someone could give you some pointers on things to try. Here are a few things I
do know:
*HP-UX comes with CDE and HP-VUE GUIs. I doubt that the HP-UX AutoCAD would
display to the CDE GUI.
*The instructions that came with AutoCAD instructed you to add the license
manager startup lines in the /etc/netlinkrc file. HP-UX 10 no longer has this
file so, either one must add the startup instructions to another file that is
executed at multi user initialization or the license manager will have to be
started manually after each reboot by root.
Installing a new operating system may cause the license manager "server code"
to change. When this happens an authentication failure error will be written
to the license manager log file and you must obtain a new authorization code.
If you do not know what name and/or path the log file is being written to, try
this:
# ps -ef|grep elmd
The command string used to start the license manager should be printed to the
screen, the log file is specified by the -l parameter. Instructions on
generating a current server code and authorizing the license manager can be
found in your product's Install and Performance Guide.
