How to switch product code from point to suite?

I have a new employee who has a home use standalone c3d from previous employer, and I want to swicth the serial to our IDS 2012 home standalone serial.

We can enter the new serial, but it rejects it, likely because the new one is for IDS premium.

I know I could uninstall and reinstall, but is there a way to get a point product to become a suite product?

Once the serial is switched, it would have to re-activate, of course, this is not an attempt to cheat anything.

As the suite products are installed as a package it is not possible to transition or activate a point product into / with a suite product (with the exception of vanilla AutoCAD).
