How to convert redundent server in to single server??

Hi,

We are using three redundent servers. Now customer is asking us to convert these three redundent servers in to single stand alone servers. How can we convert these three redundent servers in to single servers? Please provide a step by step approach..

Thanks,

Hi,

You need to request a new license file for the server that you want to use, then stop all other servers and start the server that you want to use with the new files.

If the server was one of the existing, you don't need to do anything on the client computer. If it's a new one, check the licpath.lic files that is stored in the product installation folder and update with the name of the new server.

Hi,

We are converting the existing three redundant servers in to the three different single license servers. So are you suggesting that we just need to download and deploy the new single license server file and that will convert this redundant server into single license server. Do we need to modify anything else??

Hi,

That should be enought, you just need to split the number of licenses between the 3 servers and request a new license file for each server.

If you are not changing the server names, you should not do anything else, just be carefull that now the customers will have the licpath.lic file pointing to the 3 servers, if you want to limit the users to use a specific server you need to update this file to point only to one specific server.

Please check this document for more information about server used to take a license:
