Well since no one else seem to know how to fix this problem I looked esle where, my teachers. This is how I fixed my problem. I went into the Maya 2008 folder. On my computer it is C:\Documents and Settings\Shauna\My Documents\maya\2008. I copied the presets folder to the dektop, just to be safe. Then i deleted the original presets folder in C:\Documents and Settings\Shauna\My Documents\maya\2008.
After that i opened maya 2008, the program asked me if I wanted to copy the old presets folder or use default settings. I chose default setting because my old presets were the problem.
This fixed my problem. I then deleted by copied presets folder I had on my desktop.
