try to use this solution

http://usa.autodesk.com/getdoc/id=TS15916540

also try the same command in the solution with sudo infront; to run as super user for the first time.

System language is english. I tried the proposed remedies, which made no difference at all. Any helpful suggestions, or does the trial download simply not work on a mac?

None of that stuff works; however, I uninstalled, then reinstalled, the software, which now works like a charm. Something must have gotten corrupted during the 1st install.
