Hello,
Would anyone be able to comment on the following issue. We have contacted Pipeline FX and they have responded with the following after reviewing our license daemon log during rendering issues(most recent response is at the top, orginal question is at the bottom). Thanks!
----------------------------
This is a known bug in the Autodesk licensing daemon; it happily serves up the R1 licenses, but often fails to serve up the R2 through R5 licenses.
In the log output below, the license server issues all the R1's, then begins to issue R2's, but never issues R3's when it runs out of R2's; in fact, it gives up when all the R1 licenses are exhausted, when what it's supposed to do is to try and issue an R1, then an R2, then an R3, etc, all the way up to R5.

Have you tried contacting Autodesk about this and logging a case? We've actually had a customer convince Autodesk to re-issue their licenses as all R5's; they used to have 10 R1's, 10 R2, etc, now they 50 R1's and no R2's through R5's.
Mann, Feb-09 08:54 am (PST):
We have implemented a new maya license/server and it works well for our two desktop workstations. We now realize that when we submit a render to our Piplinefx renderfarm(using four xserve render nodes) that the licensing server will cause error to the desktops or crash itself. We did not have this issue before implementing this new license. Would these render machines need to be patched into the license? Do maya/mental ray render nodes use licensing? I have attached the Autodesk license server log file showing the discrepancies on that end, hopefully it helps my question make sense. thanks!
