please help i have no idea what i am doing wrong... i just downloaded the program an hour ago.

You installed as a network licensed product. Do you own a network seat? And if so, did you obtain a license .LIC file for your server and set up the Autodesk Network License Manager? If none of this is making sense, then you probably have a stand-alone seat and you need to reinstall as a stand-alone version and activate it online.
