FlexLM AC Electrical 2011 & PDSP 2014

Our license server servers licenses for both AutoCAD Electrical 2011 and Product Design Suite 2014. These products are reserved for 2 different sets of users. When users run AutoCAD Electrical, the license server wants to assign them a license for AutoCAD Electrical AND a license for Product Design Suite. They are not in the group for PDS so they don't have access to the PDS license. Since the PDS license is rejected, they are refused a license for AutoCAD Electrical. Is there a fix for this? An AutoCAD Electrical user should not be required to occupy 2 licenses, 1 for AC Electrical and 1 for PDS. I've attached my license file. Thanks.

Sorry about the inappropriate attachment post.

I've attached the license.log file which has logged a single run of AutoCAD Electrical 2011. PDSP 2014 was not run in this log file.

Thanks.

Below is the output of a status enquiry. Not sure why the "License path" is showing the wrong port and server name. However, we were forced to change server names recently. But the "Server name" is showing the correct server IP address and it is handing out licenses correctly (except for this issue).

try editing the servername in the license file to the new name and try running status inquiry again

The license file had the host name correct. It was the registry that had the bad information. So, the good status information is below.

I think this whole licensing problem stems from the fact that AutoCAD Electrical 2011 is listed under the PDSP 2014 "Package" statement in the license file. And, for some reason, the FLEXlm is combining the "stand alone" AutoCAD Electrical 2011 license with the PDSP 2014 license. And since the stand alone ACE 2011 users don't have permissions to use PDSP they don't get an ACE 2011 license.

the suite license is over riding the electrical 2011 license because they were generated at different times and the suite license was generated after the electrical license

so you should be seeing a total of 3 Autocad Electrical 2011 seats and not 2 this might be why your having errors

So to resolve this, are you saying I need to get a newer AutoCAD Eletrical 2011 license file to add to my existing AutoDesk (multiple product) license file? Or, will this take the coordinated regeneration of the entire AutoDesk (multiple product) license file? If so, who would I contact to get this done? Thanks.

you have to generate both the suite license and the autocad electrical 2011 license and the Autocad licenses at the same time

You can use the online method to activate your license here:

http://www.autodesk.com/licensesupport

Or you can can call Autodesk Product Registration and Authorization:

1-800-551-1490 > Option 1 (English) > Option 2 > (network)

Asia / Pacific: 65.6735.5688
Europe / Middle East / Asia: 41.32.723.9595

You will need to provide your serial number and theserver name, MAC Address
