Fail to install Revit Structure 2012

Hi,

I have already well installed Revit Architecture 2013, Revit Mep 2013, and Revit 2013 on my computer.

However, I have downloaded Revit Structure 2012 student version for three times, and have tried to installed them for five times. But it fails to install all the time. Everytime, it keeps coming to the same install point, showing, "Installation complete. Some products failed to install" and followings show "Autodesk Revit structure 2012, Autodesk Design Review 2012, and Autodesk Material Library 2012-Medium Image Library" all failed.

And I am using the Autodesk_Revit_Structure_2012_English_Win_32-64bit download manager to install it.

Another question is,  I understand the Revit 2013 has combined the three parts of Revit, MEP, Architecture and Structure into one software. I would like to know, does that mean we can realize all the functions in Revit 2013 instead of operating in three parts separately ?

Thanks so much!

Best,

Na

Hi,

Please open the setup log for the product which you will find in the TEMP directory, accessed by typing '%temp%' in the START > RUN. Look in the log for the first package in the install sequence which shows a failure and reply to post which package failed.

Also, then look in the same directory for an install log for the package that failed. If you upload it to the thread, I will check it for you.

The following link also has some helpful suggestions on how to work with the install logs to find out what is causing the install error:

Dear Alison,

Thanks so much for the reply! Since I have also installed Revit 2013, Revit Architecture 2013, and Revit MEP 2013 on my computer. I am wondering whether it is because the Revit Structure 2012 version is not compatible with Revit 2013?  Do you think so?  And the following end is what is inside my set up log.
Thanks so much!!

Hi,

I looks like the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x86 Redistributable package failed. Please check the solution for this at:

http://upandready.typepad.com/up_and_ready/2012/01/installation-the-case-of-microsoft-visual-c-2010-...

From the Control Panel > Programs and Features on the system, check whether the more recent version (version 10.0.40219) is already installed. Then you can simply remove the more recent version temporarily, allow the Autodesk installer to complete. After the install has finished, you can run Windows Updates to get the more recent version back on the system.

Cheers,

Alison

Hi,Alison,

I do the steps following your instructions. But I find no new versions version 10.0.40219 appearing there. All I have is as following picture:

Should I still remove the more recent version temporarily so as to install the Revit Structure?

Thanks,

Best,
