Every Autodesk application hangs the PC when loaded

I have searched for months, until I ended up giving up. All the solutions given were either "install the latest SP" or "it's a hardware issue". In my case I know it's neither as my hardware is in mint condition, and happens to almost everyone with an SSD.

I tried Maya 2012-2015 and LT, 3d Max 2011-2014, even Mudbox. They all hand at the splash screen for 2-10 minutes. For what I could gather, it has to do with the licensing or the raysat service.

If I kill the service, it loads fine the first time, after which it stays hidden and keeps freezing.

There HAS to be a solution, as this is a common issue.

Win 8, good specs overall. Also using zBrush and other apps, they work perfectly.

Someone knows?

Just tried with 3dMax 2015. Same deal, longer waiting time.

2015 SP1... same.

Can't believe this isn't fixed yet as so many users are experiencing the same issue 😞

Do more than just stare from the outside at your screen: there are dozens of freeware tools like ProcessMonitor that will tell you what's going on with your system, what is hanging, what is stuck and more.

65 people looked at your post and decided to walk away: there is just not enough information for remote help.

The culprit apparently is the Flexnet Licensing Service 64. The amount of processes it summons is staggering. Same with the Akamai service.

Did the mistake of removing them, now the apps won't start.

Reinstalling 3dMax due to user stupidity

Thanks for the follow up and fix.

Dean, there is no fix. I just pointed out the issue: the licensing services. There's no apparent way to remove them, so the issue is not solved. Autodesk needs to fix it as it's using the same system for several years, prior to the distribution of SSDs

You've used Win8 for several years?

So you did not reinstall what you said you removed? That's kind of how I read your reply. Is there a challenge in removing all Autodesk software, properly removing all Autodesk content, cleaning out the WIndows Registry (after you back it up) of all Autodesk references, removing all .NET applications, restarting WIndows and reinstalling only the software that is WIn8 approved? I use a freeware called REGSEEKER2 to remove entries from the WIndows Registry, followed by a scan by another freeware, CCLEANER, to ensure proper fixes are done.

SSDs here, Win7 not Win8, no issues with your software choices here: while that's no HELP to you, hopefully your added information may shed light on possible fixes if you choose not to properly reinstall.

I never said I used WIn8 for several years, where do you get that?

And yes, reinstalled several versions (2011, 2014, 2014, 2015) after a clean unistall after each removal. Several systems as well.

Is your SSD the primary unit?

Some more info, maybe it helps:

Changed recently the GPU, from an ATI 6750 to an nVidia GTX 770.
