Error installing Revit 2012: Failed to load FNP_ACT_Installer.dll

I am attempting to install Revit 2012 on a machine that already has Revit 2011 and AutoCAD 2011.  Yet, I am getting this error and the installation then rolls back.

I have tried the fixes discussed in the following articles:

http://www.cadsoft-consult.com/blogs/architecture/2010/01/cases-from-the-helpdesk-revit-install-erro...

http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=13890529&linkID=9243182

Neither option worked.

Please help and thanks!

Soooo...I solved this issue despite any input.

After trying the links above, I found additional information saying to delete the FNP_ACT_Installer.dll from the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\AdLM\R4.  The program asked for the file, but after copying the dll from my upacked installer package, it still gave me the same error.

This was the 4th time I tried installing it.  So, I went nuclear.  Here is how I got it to work:

1st - I deleted the partial install of Revit 2012 under C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Revit Architecture 2012.

2nd - Then I ran CCleaner to clean all the Revit 2012 registry items that it installed from the failed attempts.

3rd - Then I deleted the unpacked installer package and restarted the computer.

4th - Next, I re-unpacked the installer to C:\Autodesk

5th - Installed Revit and it worked!!!

Hope this helps anyone else who is having this issue.
