Error [1.5-15] -- XP Pro

I have three Win XP machines running AutoCad 2004 from a network deployment. I currently have version 8.3c of LMTOOLS installed.

I only get this error on the 2 XP PRO machines. 1 of the machines has SP1 and the other SP2. The other machine is XP HOME, and has never had this error.

When I get the error, I can ping the server but cannot telnet into port 2700 or 2080.

To work around this error, I've been deleting the ADSKFLEX_LICENSE_FILE from the system registry, and then re-booting. After a fresh reboot I can start Autocad without a problem ONE time.

If I close Autocad and then try to re-open it, I get the error [1-15] again.

I've looked through all the postings but nothing has helped.

I'm open to any suggestions, as the work-around I am currently using is a pain.

FYI..........

I'vd downloaded the latest flexLM tools from:

http://www.macrovision.com/services/support/flexlm/lmgrd.shtml#windows

version 10.3
And now things seem to be working fine.

Has anybody seen this post?

I still have the same problem.

My ACAD rep has no idea and apparently cannot get a reply from Autodesk.

Any reply would be appreciated......

I am experiencing this same problem. What was the resolution for you?

The only machine I can get to run the LM is the local machine which is serving as the LM server and is also my workstation. Other workstations get the exact same error. (Error[1.5.-15]

Generally, when you get a -15 error it is because the client machines cannot see the license server. That is often caused by the Windows Firewall or the fact that the NLM is not configured to run as a Service.

Error 1.5.-15: Cannot connect to license server system.
The server (lmgrd) has not been started yet, or the wrong port@host or license file is being used, or the TCP/IP port or host name in the license file has been changed.

Make sure you choose 'Configuration using Services' on the Server/License File tab and check the box to ignore the environment variable. Then make sure both checkboxes are checked at the bottom of the Config Services tab. Make sure the Windows Firewall is turned off at the server and the client. Then restart the Service. Note: You should only be running one NLM on your network.

Make sure you can ping the NLM server by name at the client machine. You may also want to double-check your LICPATH.LIC file in your application root and verify that the hostname and the MAC address of the NLM are correct. If you have a system environment variable set, you should check that too.

If your NLM is installed on a Windows XP Professional, you should be aware that there is a limit of 10 concurrent network connections. Therefore if more than 10 network connections are made to your workstation, then all other connections will be denied. It is best to put the NLM on a Server operating system.

At the time of this post, the latest version of the NLM is 10.8.
