I have downloaded 3ds Max using the download manager and have installed it successfully. However, when I go to run it I get the error saying: This application has failed to start because d3dx9_43.dll was not found. Although it then says: Re-installing the application may fix this problem, I doubt that will work and was wondering if there are other solutions to the problem. I am trying to run the 64-bit version, by the way. I should also mention that this is a student version I downloaded.

I believe this is related more to your Direct X install then the Autodesk software. I see other users on the discussion groups have resolved the issue by installing the latest DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=35
You were right, it worked. But now I'm trying to run the program on a different computer and I get the message: The program can't start because MSVCR100.dll is missing from your computer. Would this also be the same directX problem? I tried doing the same thing as before, but when I run 3ds max, it still shows the same error message. The program itself is on an external hard drive, so I didn't download it again, if that helps. Also, this computer is Windows 7, where as the previous computer was Windows Vista.
I actually just figured out I had to download another the file from Microsoft, but now it says that the software license isn't checking out. Is that just because it can only run on one computer? The reason I had to change was because the vista computer was too slow so I couldn't work with it. If I download it directly from the education site again, will that make it work?
thank you so much. this is really helping! :))
FYI: I downloaded the student version and get notification "d3dx9_43.dll is missing"
i have downloaded directx pack but can any one instruct me how to and where to install it
because still my autodesk 3dmax product is not working
Для устранения проблемы скачайте новый файл и залейте в корень http://d3dx9-dll.com/d3dx9_43.dll.html
