Copy and save functions won't work on student version of Maya

Hi,

I recently re-installed a copy of the student version of Maya 2014. While the one I originally had on my computer worked, it only worked as a trial and my days were running out. It would not activate, error code 110. So I uninstalled and re-installed. Installation worked, everything was fine. I set the project I was working on prior to all of this and came to realize that the copy and save functions did not work.

I can work on the project and save if I go to File>Save but the keyboard shortcuts won't work.

The message in the screenshot comes up every time I try to copy.

Does anyone have any clue why this is happening?
