I have a need to convert an ipt file to an stl file so I can send it to a business partner for 3D printing. Can I do this on Autodesk Inventor 2011 or do I need and external conversion. If I do need an external conversion, then which one might be free?

Inventor does this natively. Also, when saving as an STL, make sure you choose options and save it as a high resolution stl. The 3D printers seems to work better and the models come out nicer on higher resolution STL files.
