Created a deployment and got copies of the files.
.\Img\Setup.exe /W /q /I Img\c3d.ini /language en-us
If the system runs the setup.exe as SYSTEM user (i.e. via SCCM or intune) the setup just seems to hang. If I run it manually through an elevated command prompt it runs and completes successfully.
Checked %temp% and no log file created. Checked task manager and I have 2 setup.exe processes neither with any activity.
I have to roll this out to 1000s of computers so need to try a working fix for this problem without user intervention or visiting each machine

Have you check the steps provided in this page?
Actually found a solution myself. It turns out if you edit the SCCM scripts for a batch file and put the setup AT THE END after all the pre requisites it seems to install fine.
Thank you again!
That's great, I am glad to hear that.
So we can assume the prerequisite components needs to be installed before the CORE products installed.
If you run it as the logged in user with admin it seems to work, only not with system. I wonder if something is failing to install because of that
