Civil 3D 2014 - Deployment customization

We have a network deployment ready to install.  Unlike other flavors of AutoCAD, Civil 3D 2014 does NOT have a method of customizing the deployment to include paths to the custom tool palettes, plot styles, templates etc. which are shared on the server.  

 

What is the best method to apply these for each installation? 

 

Can I run the deployment then run a custom user profile that applies these settings or something else?  If so how can this be done?

Here is something that I found that may help....

The easiest way is to export your settings to an .arg file and then import it after the install and first run is complete.  It is similar to this workflow:
