Civil 3D 2011 and Land Desktop on 64-bit OS

We are preparing to finally make the jump to Civil 3d 2011 on Windows 7 64-bit operating systems. We were using Land Desktop 2007, and as far as we can tell, this does not run on the OS. Is there a way to allow LDD 2007 to run on this system as we become familiar with C3D 2011, or is there a more common path to making this move?
