I have tried to install Civil 3D 2010 on my computer and as mentioned, it aborts with a 1603 error when it tries to install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable (x64). I have gone through the forums and tried all the solutions I could find. I have downloaded and installed Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable (x64) directly from Microsoft and it installed perfectly fine. I have ran setup as administrator. I am out of ideas...
Here is the error:
Install Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable (x64) Failed Installation aborted, Result=1603
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If the prerequisite is already installed and installation still fails, then you may need to make an advanced edit to the setup.ini file to ignore the error. Please make sure you did manually install the prerequisite file from Microsoft and then modify the setup.ini file accordingly.
