Changing standalone license numbers

We mistakenly thought a single licensed copy was our multiple license one so we installed it on too many computers.  We want to change the serial number on the inappropriate installs to ones that are legit.  Can I change the serial number without doing a full uninstall/reinstall?  All are standalone versions.

I would not worry about this issue, so long as you maintain your license count against the total number of seats that you own then you are within compliance.

The reason for chaning the serial number was that our user was getting an licening error message that would not allow him to launch the program.  Otherwise, I would not have worried about it since we have enough legal copies.

In this case, what you simply need to do is call Autodesk Activations at 1-800-551-1490.  Give them your multi-seat serial number when they ask for it.  Then give them the request code from your computer that will not activate.  This will successfully activate the product in their system with the correct serial number regardless of what is installed on your client.
