Cannot or will not install Revit MEP 2011

When trying to install, the only box able to check is Design Review.  Why are the other 2 boxes greyed out?  One of the greyed out boxes is REVIT MEP 2011.

I do have Autocad 2008 and 2010 and Navis Freedom 2010 and 2009 and Design Revew installed.

This indicates Revit MEP 2011 was previously installed. The Windows Installer entries in the Registry remain. This would be because the uninstall failed, the entries are damaged, or someone manually changed them.

Is Revit MEP 2011 listed in the Add and Remove Programs or Programs and Features lists? If so try launching the installer and choose the uninstall option. If not is there a blank entry in this list? You might try selecting it and see if the Revit MEP 2011 installer or maybe even any another application installer launches.

Another approach is to try the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility. Microsoft has removed this utility from their web site but if you look you will find it in many places. The 14th post to this thread for example has the file as an attachment. Look for the msicuu2.zip link. After installing this utility select the Revit MEP 2011 entry then choose Remove. If you don’t find blank items on the Add and Remove Programs or Programs and Features lists you might find them here. If you choose to remove a blank item from this list you may never know for certain what you removed so be warned there is this risk if you remove a blank item.

Please do not modify the registry yourself without guidance from someone who can give you proper instructions.
